I sort
of fell into this teaching thing. I got recommended to take this class. It
required a teaching internship. At the end of that semester, I was able to
apply to teach. Voila. I fell into my new passion.
Let me clarify what I do. I’m not a full-blown teacher with a credential. I am still an undergraduate student who is pursuing a degree in English. I merely teach Remedial Freshman Composition. I basically help a bunch of students improve their writing, although, the majority of them are already superb writers.

At
first, I found myself wondering why I loved it so much. I never wanted to be a
teacher – it never seemed like my thing – so, how could I like it so much? I
thought about it and thought about it, and I came up with the answer. I have
always loved to be educated. I love learning new things. I have learned more
from teaching than I have learned from anything else in my life.
Hopefully, my students learn a little bit from me as well.
In my free time, I love to read, but I’m usually caught up in schoolwork. Education is basically my life. I teach, I’m taught and I enjoy every minute of it.
