Epic Teaching Fails

Lately I feel like I have been failing at teaching because I have been too focused with my career goals. Lately, I've been reverting to a lot of TEDtalks and things that require a student work with minimal discussions and questions.
Today, I wanted to have some fun. Today, I wanted to take my students to my university's Holi Festival of Color. First, there were student complaints, but I didn't let that stop me. I thought it was a fun way of learning something about a different culture and wanted to get a really fun research lesson out of it. So, we headed over to the festival. And by the time we got there, at 1, it was over. The event started at 12:30, was supposed go until 2 and have free food. I was very disappointed and I felt like it was an epic teaching fail on my part.
There is only so much you can do with teaching basic English, and one can only stare at a computer screen for so long. But the second I try to have fun and change that, it epically fails on me.
